The 2011 Chevrolet Volt- GM's Electric Car

 
The new 2011 Chevrolet Volt is GM's new take on an electric vehicle.  This new Chevrolet Electric Vehile will hit showrooms at the end of 2010.  The Volt is an electric car that uses gas to create its own electricity.  Simply plug in the Volt overnight, and its ready to run on pure electric charge for up to 40 miles.  Once the charge is depleted and is not recharged, the Volt uses a range-extending gas generator that produces energy to run for hundreds of miles on a single tank.  So first, the vehicle runs on electricity from its battery, then it runs on electricity it creates from gas.

The 2010 Chevrolet Equinox received the highest possible rollover protection rating of "Good" in the first Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rollover tests of midsize SUVs and crossovers, one of four tests leading to receiving the Institute's Top Safety Pick award.

The 2010 Equinox offers standard four-wheel disc brakes, traction control and StabiliTrak electronic stability control with rollover mitigation. The Equinox also offers six standard air bags: dual frontal air bags, head curtain side air bags and seat-mounted side air bags.
 
The 2010 Equinox also has received the highest possible five-star front- and side-impact ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
