Why You Should Never Dry-Wipe Your Dusty Chevy

When the air gets dry, it can quickly get dusty around Harlingen. By the end of even a short commute, you may notice a film of dirt starting to build up on your car.

While we're all tempted to keep our Chevy's paint looking shiny, it's important to resist the urge to swipe the dust off with a towel when you're out and about.

What happens if you dry-wipe your dusty car instead of waiting to hose it off?

All those harmless-looking dust particles are jagged. When viewed under a microscope, they look like sharp rocks. You wouldn't scrape a rock over your vehicle's paint, but when you wipe dust off with a towel (or worse, your hand), that's exactly what you're doing, and it creates tell-tale scratch marks.

Always wait until you have a hose handy before attempting to clean your car, and only use a clean microfiber towel to dry it off.
