The iconic Chevrolet Silverado arrives on the scene with a newly engineered version: the Chevrolet Silverado EV, an electric pickup truck that brings you ultimate efficiency alongside all the perks you'd expect from the tradition Silverado. This new Chevy model is built on Ultium, the new battery platform from General Motors that encourages more flexibility and power. Electric Performance 

It's a common misconception that EVs don't bring the same power as their gasoline counterparts, but not with the Chevrolet Silverado EV. The Chevrolet Silverado EV runs on two electric motors that boast a maximum 660 hp and 780 lb-ft of torque with a special setting called Wide Open Watts mode. 

The strength and flexibility of this Chevy truck come from the Ultium battery platform that is used as a starting point for all new Chevy EVs. This platform not only introduces a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 lb for the Chevrolet Silverado EV, but it also helps to lower the center of gravity and optimizes weight distribution to ensure that your handling is as smooth as possible. According to GM estimates, the Silverado EV offers up to a 400-mile range on a full charge.

Innovations

The innovations of the Chevrolet Silverado EV are impressive. The interior is reimagined and offers many important tech features. You'll instantly notice the massive 17-inch free-form touchscreen that keeps you in touch with every aspect of your vehicle; Google Assistant is built-in. Since there is no transmission, the area normally reserved for one features a spacious cargo compartment. Meanwhile, the panoramic fixed-glass roof brings in a bright and roomy feel to the cabin.

Check under the front hood to reveal an e-trunk in place of the traditional engine, introducing a 120V AC outlet and four cargo tie-downs for various items. Thanks to the Multi-Flex Midgate with a pass-through function, you can carry items up to 10 feet in your cargo bed. The standard bed boasts almost six feet of length, too!

Safety comes first for the Chevrolet Silverado EV with its selection of standard features. One such system is rear cross traffic braking, which helps you to avoid collisions while you're reversing.
